Racing Night wasn’t exactly a success and fell short of expectations for Andrea Mantovani, aboard Team D’Ettore’s Ducati V2. He started from 5th place midway through the race, but while battling for the podium, his Panigalina stalled due to a technical issue. Despite this, Andrea managed to restart shortly afterward and finished 13th under the stars of the Misano World Circuit. This technical issue also affected Mantovani’s performance in Race 2 on Sunday, as he had to settle for 4th place at the checkered flag. The mechanics did everything they could to put Andrea in a safe condition, preventing the bike from stalling suddenly and dangerously, which would have detrimental to the V2’s power.
ANDREA MANTOVANI:
A real shame for Saturday night’s Racing Night, which was packed with spectators. I felt great, and halfway through the race, I was already implementing the Imola strategy in the leading group when my bike suddenly stalled. I stopped at the side of the track, waited a moment, and managed to restart it, restarting last and then working my way up to 13th place. In Race 2 on Sunday, I tried to manage the 14 laps as best I could, knowing that the bike wasn’t at its best. Now I’m second in the championship, 13 points behind the leader. We need to focus on doing well in the last four races, which will take place in Cremona and Vallelunga RM.
I’d like to thank Team D’Ettorre for always doing their best for me, and I thank all the sponsors and everyone who came to see me in Misano.
See you in Cremona on September 19-20!
